This month's drawing is of a terracotta stauette from a museum collection. It is from my 1996 diary. The support is velum. The line work and shading are in pencil. Because velum is transleucent, the orange background is a wash of water color painted on the back of the piece. On the borders are gold leaf with rich red water color fill. I believe this was a statuette of Jesus beneath a transparent veil. Date of this entry: 4.28.2002 |
